U12 Match Report Sat 18th Oct 2008

Bradford U12 vs Trowbridge Town U12

Bradford Town 1 Trowbridge Town 9

Saturday saw the girls make the short journey to Bradford Town to play the newest team in the League. With the pitch being very small they were forced to get the ball on the floor and play football, which they did in very pleasing style. The early minutes saw three or four good chances go begging, but true to their new found confidence this year they continued to pass the ball and create goal scoring opportunities. By half time the score was 4-0 but could have been considerably more and the girls were full of conficence. One particular highlight of the half was when the Bradford keeper grabbed the ball on her goal line from a clearance by Lucy - our keeper. After an early scare in the second half the girls went on to score 5 further goals and play some great football. Well done Beth Barby for scoring the seasons first Hat Trick and to Eliza for her second goal from the half way line in two weeks. Particular praise is also due to the Bradford Team who were a credit to themselves and their club. They were battling for every ball in the last minute with the same enthusiam as the first. all in all a great game, well done girls.

U12 Match Report Sun 5th Oct

Wootten Bassett Vs Trowbridge Town

Score 0 -5

Sunday again and this week the girls travelled to Wootton Bassett. The weather was truly awful with a very strong, cold wind and constant rain throughout the match. Having lost the toss they were forced to play the first half in to the wind and found it really difficult, however the defence was magnificent. As the half wore on they created a few chances but were unable to make them count. The second half was a different story. The wind did not drop ant the girls took full advantage, scoring 5 times to win the game 5-0. Again they have made really great progress and some of the passing and moving was the best the team have produced. They all played with enthusiasm and commitment in what can only be described as horrid conditions and left the field with smiles on their faces. Full credit is due to each and every player involved they did themselves and the club proud.
